Oct 11,  · Smash together the Fiery Furnaces and the Arcade Fire, with a dash of the Polyphonic Spree's tweeness. That pretty much describes the sound of Architecture in Helsinki's second album, "In Case We Die." Well, fortunately these guys don't suffer from the sophomore slump/5(24).

Sep 14,  · In Case We Die is easily the strongest record from Architecture in Helsinki, and it's is the band's only album that I'm comfortable recommending to the average indie pop fan. Although it features the same hyperactive, twee pop-meets-bizarro sound as its mediocre predecessor Fingers Crossed, In Case We Die focuses the same basic ingredients into a far more memorable collection of melodies/5(57).

Perhaps Architecture In Helsinki is often compared to the Fiery Furnaces because neither band fits easily into one category. "In Case We Die" is a head-scratcher -- it's too grounded to be twee, too bizarre to be pop, too soft to be rock, too straightforward to be psychedelica. And despite odd bits of new wave, there's no retro sound either/5(24).
