Jul 06,  · There is no doubt that Chick Corea is a monster keyboardist/pianist and this album is just one of many great ones he has released over his incredible career. It took me a few listens to get into this particular collection. Sometimes this genre of music goes over my head and it takes me a while to grasp it/5(25).

"Pixiland Rag" is a re-working of Corea's "Children's Song #9". The central piece is "Leprechaun's Dream" which shows Chick's mastery of orchestral writing/5(25).

Chick’s creativity was running on overdrive in , with Return to Forever introducing a whole new generation to jazz. The Leprechaun is a crowning achievement of the era: an ambitious, carefully structured flight of fantasy, incorporating beautiful acoustic and electric tones, and the gorgeous, ethereal vocals of Gayle Moran.
